In the early days of the COVID pandemic, I was in a very low and dark place. I had just moved to New York City, and instead of getting to explore and create new experiences, I was stuck at home working a very stressful and scary job. It wasn’t anything like the vision I had imagined for myself. 

 

That’s when I discovered candle making. It was the first ‘art’ that had intrigued me since I studied dance as a child and young adult. It was this fascinating mix of scents and science that I had never experienced before. I fell in love with the entire process and it became something that stirred my soul the more I practiced. So even though I was stuck inside at the onset of a global pandemic, I found myself on a creative journey that was lighting the way toward a new path.

 

The art of candle making helped me rediscover the light within myself. It ignited my flame and my passion. It guided me to envision a new path for my life, but it was a path that terrified me just as much as it lit me up. And yet, the idea of taking this path into the unknown and crossing this threshold filled me with a sense of purpose because I ultimately wanted to help others feel that same sense of being ignited. I wanted to help others feel comfortable being themselves and inspired to follow their burning desires, despite the fears that inevitably tag along. 

 

This path into the unknown led to the birth of Vacello. 

 

Vacello is the Italian word for vessel. 

 

With Vacello, I want to provide the experience of creating a candle and choosing a unique vessel. A vessel that calls to you, a vessel that will hold the introspective light of the candle you create. I want you to be reminded of the sacred vessel of your body — one that holds your light, your spirit. I want to help you discover the glowing light inside. I want you to be ignited so you can inspire and touch others in only the way that you can.
